Eastbourne is a smaller seaside town, but it offers a relaxed and friendly environment for students. The University of Brighton has a campus here, mainly focused on health sciences, and there’s a strong community feel among the students. The town itself is best known for its beach, pier, and the beautiful South Downs nearby — perfect if you like walking, cycling, or just chilling by the sea. Cultural life in Eastbourne is more low-key compared to bigger cities, but you’ve got events like the Eastbourne Festival, Airbourne (a massive free air show), and regular gigs and shows at the Congress Theatre. Most students either live in university-managed halls or rent private houses around Meads or the town centre. Social life is centred around a handful of popular pubs, bars, and student nights, and Brighton is close enough for bigger nights out if you want them.
